The Marley Thinks He is 100%

It's been 19 days since the surgery and The Marley's recovery is nothing short of amazing. These pictures are just before the staples were removed, when I bought the movie "Marley and Me". He always wants to watch it.

He doesn't need his giant megaphone lamp shade around his neck anymore because the scar from the plate removal healed up very fast. I mean really very fast. The Marley dog thinks he's 100% now and tries to jump and kill my jacket or pillow or anything else he thinks needs a good shake and kill.

If any of you have a Lab puppy of sort you know what I'm talking about. When they spin and jump then do figure eights and pretty much go into spastic happy frenzy!

Well, my job recognize when the whole spastic happy frenzy thingis about to happen and instantly calm the big monster down. All in all, my Marley is recovering above expectations. I just have to always remember he is still in a very fragile phase. My vet stated "His leg is like glass with holes from the screws"

Again The Marley and I wish to thank everyone for their donations and support.

Things Marley brings home

We visited the neighbors today and Marley eyed a basketball. My neighbor Steve thought it was kinda funny how Marley was staring at it and gave it a kick.

Thats about all it took. I thought I had a bird dog but it turns out he's a ball dog. It took a few minutes to get his slobbery mouth around it, then after a few more kicks and throws the neighbor had a flattened ball. He donated it.

Some things Marley has brought home out of the forest or stolen i guess. Finding dog toys for him that he wont eat is challenging.
  • little plastic dinosaurs
  • golf balls
  • baseball mitts
  • tree stumps
  • trees
  • plastic garbage can lids
  • half of a ham
  • baseball bat
  • deer antlers, he chewed on these for about a year and knows what they are by name
  • basketballs
  • baseballs
  • a gross or two of green tennis balls
  • milk containers
  • tennis shoes
  • boots
  • gloves
  • birds, finally something he was breed for
  • CD cases
  • a few other dogs, not dead but just to play with
  • a live bullfrog
  • squirrels, dead
  • apples, plums, pears, peaches, cherries in or out of season
  • a deer leg
  • bird nest
  • a Gardener snake or two
  • the list goes on and on. I'm beginning to see a pattern here.

I'm trying to make some friends here as I just started this blog so why dont you tell me some things your dog has proudly brought home to you?
